The NC EMS Triage and Destination Triage Plan Templates are now final.

Thanks to all of the EMS stakeholders and interested individuals who participated in the development of these important documents.

All North Carolina EMS Systems are required to implement a Triage and Destination Plan for Trauma, Burns, Pediatrics, STEMI, and Stroke by December 31, 2009.

To assist in the development and implementation of these plans, the following templates have been created.  The templates can be edited by each EMS System to reflect the time parameters and hospital capability within their service area.  The goal of each triage and destination plan is to optimize the care of each patient by matching their symptom/injury timing and treatment needs to the capability of the healthcare facility.  This is sometimes referred to as the Right Patient receiving the Right Care and being transported to the Right Place within the Right Time.

Each EMS System's 4 Triage and Destination Plans should be submitted through their NC OEMS Regional Specialist for review and approval by OEMS prior to December 31, 2009.
